Investigation Service exposed a fact of counterfeiting alcoholic beverages in Tbilisi - charges were brought against 1 person

Representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed a fact of counterfeiting alcoholic beverages in the city of Tbilisi, and charges were brought against one person.

Investigation determined that the accused, in order to obtain illegal material benefit, produced counterfeit alcoholic beverages of the "SARAJISHVILI", "ASKANELI" and "ASKANELI V.S.O.P" brands, a total of 97 bottles, at his residential house under makeshift conditions, using spirit and various additives.

As a result of investigative activities, illegally produced alcoholic beverages were seized.

Investigation is underway under Article 197, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 1 to 3 years.
