The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee heard the 2025 report of the Chief Labour Inspector of the LEPL – Labour Inspection Service.

According to the report presented by Chief Labour Inspector Beka Peradze, within the framework of supervision over the enforcement of labour rights and occupational safety standards during the reporting period, 7,111 initial and follow-up inspections were conducted; more than 28,000 directives were issued; 2,584 warning reports were drawn up; decisions were made to suspend activities in more than 100 cases and to impose financial sanctions in approximately 800 cases. In addition, administrative proceedings were terminated in 352 cases due to the absence of a relevant violation.

According to him, 4,312 facilities were inspected in terms of occupational safety supervision. More than 2,400,000 directives were issued, and the inspections covered more than 42,000 employees. As Beka Peradze noted, the identified violations concerned the following issues: training and/or safety briefings had not been fully conducted at the facility; employees had not been fully provided with personal protective equipment; responsibilities and functions had not been defined at the facility; safety and/or health protection signs had not been displayed at the facility; and other violations.

According to the Chief Labour Inspector, the number of facilities inspected increased by 1.4%, while the rate of sanctions imposed decreased by 38%.

With regard to supervision over labour rights, as Beka Peradze noted, 2,799 inspections were conducted, 1,664 facilities were inspected for the first time, more than 3,600 directives were issued, and the inspections covered up to 35,000 employees.

According to him, compared to 2024, the rate of inspections concerning labour rights increased by 1.3% in 2025.

Speaking about supervision over compliance with anti-discrimination provisions in labour relations, Beka Peradze stated that in 2025, the Labour Inspection Service conducted 233 inspections and established 70 cases of discrimination.
