Batumi is hosting the International Maritime Forum

Batumi is hosting the International Maritime Forum. The event is being held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Georgia, with the support of the Ministry of Economy, and organized by the Maritime Transport Agency.

The goal is to strengthen Georgia’s status as a maritime nation, showcase the development potential of the “Middle Corridor”, and enhance regional transport connectivity on a global level.

This year, more than 300 delegates from dozens of countries will have the opportunity to interact with one another. A presentation of the Anaklia Maritime Port project will be held, and focus will be placed on the development of the transport and logistics potential in the region, as well as the Black Sea corridor.

Emphasis will also be placed on the integration of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port with ongoing infrastructure projects.

“Within the framework of the forum, the main theme concerns the connectivity of seas and transport corridors. In various panel discussions, we will discuss not only Georgia’s transport and logistics role in terms of trade connectivity between Europe and Asia, but also those important innovations and infrastructure projects that influence the strengthening and establishment of Georgia’s role in general”, - said Ivane Abashidze, Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
