Defence and Security Committee took note of the 6-month report on the execution of the State Budget

At a meeting of the Defence and Security Committee, First Deputy Finance Minister Giorgi Kakauridze presented the six-month report on the execution of Georgia’s 2026 State Budget.

According to the speaker, owing to positive macroeconomic trends, the economic growth rate is higher than projected and stands at 7.9%. As for inflation, its rate was 4.9% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

At the committee meeting, Giorgi Kakauridze presented foreign trade turnover figures, noting that during the reporting period, foreign trade turnover amounted to USD 12,925.4 million, representing a 5.8% increase compared to the previous year. As for remittances, their volume was 11% higher than the figure recorded during the first six months of 2025.

The First Deputy Minister presented the data on the revenue and expenditure components of the consolidated and state budgets. According to him, the projected revenue figure for the 2026 State Budget was set at GEL 24,996.3 thousand. During the reporting period, GEL 12,514.898 thousand was mobilized, representing 50.1% of the annual projected figure and 103% of the six-month projected figure. As for tax revenues, the six-month projected figure was executed at 101.3%.

Speaking about the rates of fund utilization by ministries and agencies, Giorgi Kakauridze noted that, according to the 6-month data, the Ministry of Defence utilized 81.2%, the Ministry of Internal Affairs - 91.8%, the State Security Service - 81.6%, the Prosecutor’s Office - 84%, Special State Protection Service - 84.2%.

Following the discussion, committee members took note of the 6-month report on the execution of the State Budget.
