Nino Tsilosani and Levan Makhashvili met with delegation of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia and Head of the Georgia-Bulgaria Parliamentary Friendship Group Nino Tsilosani, together with Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the EU Integration Committee, met with a delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The parties discussed the development of relations between the two countries, the organization of high-level visits, and Bulgaria’s support for Georgia’s EU integration process.

“Bilateral political consultations between the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Georgian side are held systematically.

In addition to ongoing working and technical issues, we also discussed political matters. We particularly emphasized Bulgaria’s support for Georgia. At a time when a number of EU decisions and statements describe the situation in Georgia rather unfairly, Bulgaria supports Georgia’s process of accession to the EU”, - said Nino Tsilosani.

During the meeting, the delegation of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed an invitation to Nino Tsilosani to visit Bulgaria on behalf of the Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Parliament of Georgia.

“The foreign ministries of both countries are working on organizing high-level visits. In the near future, together with our colleagues, we will certainly plan a visit by a delegation of the Parliament of Georgia to Bulgaria”, - added Nino Tsilosani.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation included: Petko Doykov, Director General of the General Directorate for Bilateral Relations of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ivan Pavlov, Director of the Directorate for Eastern Europe and Central Asia; and Ralitsa Vasileva, Senior Expert at the Directorate for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
