The Central Election Commission (CEC), in cooperation with the Youth Agency, continues to actively hold information sessions for young people.

As part of the 2026 Summer Youth Camps [SYC], the latest meeting was held with participants of the Kvareli Youth Camp.

The event was opened by CEC Chair Giorgi Kalandarishvili and Deputy Head of the Youth Agency Anna Bukhrashvili.

During the meeting, Giorgi Kalandarishvili spoke about the importance of young people's active participation in the electoral process, the need for access to reliable and objective information about elections, and the role of voters in a democratic society.

The CEC Chair reviewed the 2024–2025 general elections, with particular emphasis on the introduction of electoral technologies, their advantages, and the experience the election administration gained both in preparation for and throughout their successful implementation. He also addressed the impact of disinformation on the electoral process and the challenges it presents, as well as the measures undertaken by the election administration to respond to them. Giorgi Kalandarishvili also introduced the election administration’s educational initiatives aimed at promoting electoral culture, civic responsibility, and awareness of democratic processes among young people. Besides, he presented the election administration’s journal, Elections 360°, noting that the publication provides readers with comprehensive and multifaceted coverage of current electoral issues.

In the concluding part of the meeting, participants had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with electoral technologies. They also asked numerous questions on topics of interest and received comprehensive responses.

As part of the SYC project, senior officials and representatives of the election administration will continue to hold information sessions across different regions of the country, contributing to the enhancement of young people's electoral education, awareness, and active participation in democratic processes.
