The former ambassador negatively impacted Georgian-German relations. The German ambassador to Georgia has been replaced, and our ambassador has submitted his letters of credence to the German President. We remain hopeful that these steps will facilitate a reset of our bilateral relations. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
"The former Ambassador made a very negative contribution to Georgian-German relations. Germany has traditionally been one of Georgia`s most important partners since the 1990s and has made a significant contribution to our country’s development.
We want to return our relations to a positive trajectory. Germany has appointed a new Ambassador to Georgia, and our Ambassador to Germany has presented his credentials to the German President. We hope these steps will contribute to resetting our bilateral relations, which is of great importance to us.
We are grateful for the support Germany has provided to Georgia since the 1990s, and that is why we are particularly interested in renewing these relations", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
