Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Rati Ionatamishvili, visited the Lagodekhi Independent Living Centre.

During the visit, the Committee Chair familiarized himself with the Centre's activities, met with its beneficiaries, and heard firsthand about their current needs and the challenges they face.

Rati Ionatamishvili also met with members of the Lagodekhi Municipal Council on Disability Issues.

The meeting focused on the importance of supporting the Centre’s work for persons with disabilities and promoting the principles of independent living.

Particular emphasis was placed on the Personal Assistant Programme. It was noted that Lagodekhi is one of the municipalities where the programme has been successfully implemented. However, despite this positive progress, a number of barriers remain, and plans have been made to address them in the future.

Support for initiatives aimed at strengthening the rights of persons with disabilities was also expressed by the Mayor of Lagodekhi, Jondo Mdivnishvili, and the Chairman of the Lagodekhi Municipal Council, Karlo Jamburia.

They reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their efforts in this area in the future.
