The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, along with the State Representative in Shida Kartli, Simon Guledani, visited LTD “TMT, a fruit and vegetable processing and storage enterprise in the Kaspi Municipality, where high-ranking officials got familiar with the company’s development prospects.

During the visit, the Minister toured the enterprise’s infrastructure, met with company representatives, and discussed the existing potential and opportunities in fruit and vegetable production, storage, and processing.

“Strengthening the processing sector is essential for sustainable agricultural development in the country. Moreover, we aim to support farmers and enable Georgian enterprises to adopt modern technologies into production processes and focus on manufacturing high-quality, competitive Georgian products. Products made in Georgia should be associated with quality and reliability, which will contribute to strengthening the country’s economy”, - said David Songulashvili.

It’s worth mentioning that LTD “TMT” has been a beneficiary of the Rural Development Agency since 2016. Through various state programs, the company has received substantial support for its development, with the Rural Development Agency’s total co-financing contribution amounting to GEL 574,310. In 2016 and 2019, as part of the Preferential Agro credit Program, the company received support for renovation of its cannery facilities. In 2022, under the Co-Financing Project for Processing and Storage Enterprises, LTD “TMT” received GEL 488,038 in co-financing for the construction of the fruit and vegetable storage facility.

Currently, LTD “TMT” ensures the processing / storage of 1,500–2,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables annually. The company’s products are sold both on the domestic market and in export markets.

The enterprise provides permanent employment for 35 people, while during the seasonal period the number of employees increases to approximately 50.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Lasha Avaliani, Head of the National Food Agency, Giorgi Iakobashvili, and representatives of the local authorities accompanied the Minister.
