Mariam Kvrivishvili meets with Singapore’s Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance

Within the framework of the official visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Singapore, Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, met with Jeffrey Siow, Singapore’s Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance.

During the meeting, the sides discussed areas of economic cooperation between the two countries, focusing particularly on partnership in the fields of transport, logistics, civil aviation, maritime transport, information technology, and tourism.

Mariam Kvrivishvili spoke in detail about Georgia’s development as a regional transport and logistics hub, and also highlighted state investments in crucial infrastructure such as ports, railways, highways, airports, and others. Special emphasis was placed on deepening cooperation within the context of the Middle Corridor.

Speaking about the planned infrastructure projects, the Minister placed special emphasis on the strategic importance of constructing the new Tbilisi International Airport and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port.

The parties paid particular attention to strengthening partnership in the maritime-logistics sector. It was noted that in the process of developing the Middle Corridor, Georgia is actively working on the digital transformation of the maritime sector.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of cooperation in the civil aviation sector.
