Mayor of Tbilisi positively assesses President Donald Trump’s response letter to the Prime Minister of Georgia and believes that the new US administration has the strength to easily change the unjust decisions made by the previous administration against the Georgian state.
As he noted, the Georgian government is ready and absolutely transparent for friendship and partnership.
"Of course, we assess the mentioned letter positively. We have stated multiple times that the Georgian government is ready to start relations from a clean slate.
We are absolutely transparent, ready for friendship, and partnership. The unfair attitude that occurred in relation to Georgia under the previous administration was categorically unacceptable to us. I am referring to the sanctions that were imposed without any explanation, and there was no basis for imposing these sanctions. It was simply done for blackmail and threats.
I think the current administration, under the leadership of President Trump, has the strength to very easily change these unjust decisions that were against the Georgian state and the Georgian people. We are ready for friendship and cooperation. When we talk about partnership and strategic relations, of course, the interests of both countries and both peoples, both American and Georgian, must be protected", - said the Mayor.
