Law enforcement officers seized illegal firearms and ammunition in Tbilisi and regions of the country

As a result of police preventive measures carried out at different times, officers of Tbilisi, Guria, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and Imereti Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 7 people on charges of illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition.

As a result of defendants’ personal searches, and search activities held in their residential buildings, firearms of various models, ammunition and grips were seized as evidence.

The investigation is underway under Article 236 of the Criminal Code, envisioning the imprisonment for a term of up to 6 years.
