In order to identify and address possible instances of concentrations subject to prior notification, the GCCA opened proceedings in respect of four concentrations carried out during the second quarter of 2026.
During the period under review, a total of 4,556 transactions were registered in the country. Of these, 4,544 cases did not satisfy the criteria giving rise to a prior notification obligation, while 12 cases were assessed as concentrations and met the relevant criterion, including the combined turnover.
Of these 12 cases, 8 fell within the exceptions provided for under competition legislation and were, accordingly, exempted from the obligation to submit prior notification to the Agency. The remaining 4 cases were found, on the basis of the available data, to give rise to a prior notification obligation. The GCCA therefore opened proceedings in respect of these four concentrations.
In 2025, the GCCA approved a total of 18 concentrations; to date in 2026, 12 concentrations have been approved.
