The President of Georgia met with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the meeting held in Doha, Mikheil Kavelashvili personally expressed his condolences to the Emir of the State of Qatar over the passing of the former Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and paid tribute to his contribution to the development of modern Qatar.

The parties discussed the existing partnership between Georgia and Qatar and the prospects for developing cooperation. The President thanked the State of Qatar for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of peace, stability, and diplomatic dialogue in the region, including Qatar’s positive role in international mediation.
