The National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) held a presentation of its new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based NACE Classifier Search Portal.
The event was attended by representatives of government institutions, the business sector, international and donor organizations, as well as academia.
The new portal was presented by Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of Geostat. In his presentation, he highlighted the significance of introducing innovative technologies into the official statistics system and introduced to the audience the key features and practical use.
The portal enables users to quickly and easily identify the appropriate NACE Rev. 2 (GEO 006-2016) classification code based on a textual description of their economic activity. The AI-powered system analyzes the information provided by the user and, where necessary, asks additional clarifying questions to ensure a more accurate identification of the relevant economic activity code.
The new portal is available in both Georgian and English languages and is designed for business representatives, aspiring entrepreneurs, public sector employees, accounting professionals, and anyone who needs to determine the appropriate NACE code for an economic activity. In addition to the AI chatbot, the website provides the full version of the NACE classification and a brief user guide, enabling users to verify the suggested results and use the new tool effectively.
The launch of the portal marks another significant stage for Geostat during the digital transformation process and reaffirms the Office commitment to delivering timely, efficient, and innovative services through the use of modern technologies. The initiative will also help simplify the classification of economic activities and further improve the efficiency of the production of official statistics.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which participants received comprehensive information on both the operation of the new AI portal and the key areas of future cooperation between Geostat and the Georgian Economic Development Corporation.
