If we do not talk to the Georgian government, we will not achieve any change. The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, said this in Brussels, ahead of the EU Foreign Ministers` meetings.
"I always say, they know exactly what they have to do. It is their decision, but if we do not engage in dialogue with them, we will not be able to bring about change. We do not need to lecture them, as they know the rules and they know the direction their laws ought to take.
We do not need to impose anything on them. We should make our proposals, and it is up to the Georgian people to decide. They won the election. Whether we like it or not, that is a fact. If we do not talk to the Georgians, we will never be able to find solutions. When talking to them, my impression is sometimes positive, and sometimes negative", - said Xavier Bettel.
