Court proceedings continue regarding cases identified by the Department for Combating Hate Speech. The Gurjaani Court fined Ioseb Martiashvili 500 GEL for insulting citizen Levan Chafodze.

“A specific individual filed an application with the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the insult, after which administrative proceedings were initiated. A record of administrative offense was drawn up against Ioseb Martiashvili. By decision of the Gurjaani District Court, the individual was found guilty of the violation and fined 500 GEL”, - said Andro Guruli, a lawyer for the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

At this moment, the Tbilisi City Court is reviewing the case of Maia Darsmelidze, who used hate speech against Nino Jgharkava. The trial of Vakhtang Sanaia, who insulted Vladimir Bozhadze and Shalva Papuashvili, is also scheduled for today.
