NBG First Vice Governor meets representatives of the London Stock Exchange and the British Embassy

The First Vice Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), Ekaterine Mikabadze, met with Ayuna Nechaeva, Head of Europe, at the London Stock Exchange, and representatives of the British Embassy.

During the meeting, the parties discussed Georgia’s stable macroeconomic environment and successful monetary policy. They also exchanged views on the development of the capital market, promoting Georgia’s investment environment to investors, and the prospects for implementing joint projects, including opportunities to deepen cooperation between the NBG and the London Stock Exchange.

Ekaterine Mikabadze emphasized that the NBG actively supports the development of financial markets and the implementation of transparency and international best practices, which are key prerequisites for further strengthening the country’s capital market and attracting foreign investment. The meeting also highlighted that Georgian companies are successfully represented on the London Stock Exchange, underscoring the development of the country`s financial sector and its integration into international financial markets. Particular emphasis was placed on the inclusion of the Bank of Georgia in the FTSE 100 Index, which represents significant international recognition for Georgia`s private sector.

The parties expressed their readiness to identify specific areas of future cooperation and implement joint initiatives.

The meeting was also attended by heads of various departments of the National Bank of Georgia.
