This year the President of the People`s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, and the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, exchanged congratulatory letters and once again reaffirmed the importance of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, said the Chinese Ambassador to Georgia.
According to Zhou Qian, the year 2023 is particularly noteworthy, as it was when the strategic partnership between Georgia and China was established.
"We believe that in the future, our countries will achieve even greater success. In addition to high-level political trust, Georgia and China actively cooperate in tourism, education, trade, economy, and other important directions", - said the Ambassador.
In response to a question regarding the participation of a Chinese company in the construction of the Anaklia Port, he answered: "We welcome the decisions made by the Georgian government and respect the country`s choice. We hope that in the future, Chinese companies will also actively participate in ongoing projects in Georgia and contribute to the country`s economic development".
Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, said today that the Government has decided to build the Anaklia Port using the "landlord" model, under which the state will remain the owner of the main maritime and port infrastructure.
