President of Georgia met with United Nations Secretary General António Guterres in Geneva to discuss the global security environment, contemporary international challenges, and cooperation between Georgia and the UN.

Mikheil Kavelashvili underscored the importance of multilateralism and the rules-based international order as the foundation for ensuring peace, security, and sustainable development.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the issue of supporting Georgia`s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The President thanked the UN Secretary-General for the organisation`s active engagement and for keeping issues related to Georgia high on the international agenda. Mikheil Kavelashvili reaffirmed his invitation to António Guterres to pay an official visit to Georgia.
