Officers of Lanchkhuti Police Division of Guria Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested one person on charges of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition and illegal planting, growing and cultivating a plant containing narcotics.

During the search held in defendant`s house in one of the villages of Lanchkhuti Municipality, law enforcement officers seized a firearm, 2 pistols and 9 cartridges as evidence, and from the yard of the house, the police seized 3 cannabis plants containing narcotics as evidence.

The investigation is underway under Articles 236 and 265 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisioning the imprisonment for up to 6 years.
