Expanded talks get held under the leadership of Prime Minister of Georgia and President of Kazakhstan

Following the face-to-face meeting between Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expanded talks were held at the Presidential Palace of Kazakhstan with the participation of members of the two governments.

The discussions focused on high-level political relations, deepening cooperation in trade, economic affairs, transport and logistics, as well as expanding ties in the tourism sector and increasing bilateral tourist flows.

Irakli Kobakhidze thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm hospitality: "I would like to express my respect for your leadership, which has contributed to Kazakhstan’s continued progress and strengthened its position as an important and respected partner in the region. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on the successful implementation of the constitutional reform and the holding of the referendum. I am confident that the reforms carried out under your leadership will further strengthen Kazakhstan`s development and institutional resilience.

The establishment of a strategic partnership is a significant milestone in our bilateral relations and I am convinced that this important step will create new opportunities to expand cooperation between our countries across numerous areas. We would be delighted to welcome you to Georgia. I would also like to thank you for your support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is of great importance to us. We attach great importance to the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and look forward to holding its next meeting in Georgia. We believe it will provide additional momentum to trade and investment relations between our two countries".

The parties also discussed productive cooperation within international organizations.

The President of Kazakhstan highlighted the friendly relations and fruitful cooperation between Kazakhstan and Georgia: "Georgia is a trusted and utterly reliable partner for Kazakhstan. We deeply value the longstanding friendly relations between our countries. Our nations are connected by deep historical roots, shared cultural values and close people-to-people ties, which form the solid foundation of our partnership.

We highly appreciate your personal contribution to strengthening cooperation and friendship between Kazakhstan and Georgia. Today we will sign a Joint Declaration elevating our relations to the level of a strategic partnership. This is truly a historic decision that serves the fundamental interests of our peoples and creates a strong foundation for further expanding cooperation between our two countries.

This is one of the most significant outcomes of your visit to Kazakhstan and represents an important step forward in our bilateral cooperation.

I would also like to commend you on the progress Georgia has achieved in recent years. Your strong leadership has enabled Georgia to successfully overcome complex challenges while maintaining a steady course of development. Georgia continues to achieve impressive results in strengthening democratic institutions, promoting economic growth and enhancing its role on the international stage. We see Georgia as a dynamic, forward-looking country with a bright future and we sincerely wish you every success in achieving your national goals".
