The Parliament adopted amendments to the Law on Roads

The Parliament considered in the third reading, under an expedited procedure, and supported amendments to the "Law on Roads", which were presented at the plenary session by the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Mzia Giorgobiani.

According to the bill, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Georgia is granted the authority to fully or partially transfer the duty of maintaining international and domestic roads to a private law legal entity under its management. The state company will carry out road maintenance on the 105-km Gori-Argveta section, which includes 138 bridges and 59 tunnels.

The amendments also determine that non-fulfillment of individual obligations related to highways will lead to liability in accordance with the procedures established by the "Administrative Offenses Code of Georgia".
