Vice Governor of the National Bank held a meeting with Asian Development Bank representatives

Nino Jeladze, Vice Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), along with the heads of relevant departments, held a working meeting with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Georgia's economy and its macroeconomic prospects. Focus was placed on the risks associated with the ongoing developments in the Middle East and their potential impact on the Georgian economy. Additionally, they reviewed the resilience and development trends of the banking sector, the supervisory framework, the digital transformation of the financial sector, and cybersecurity matters.

Nino Jeladze underscored the significant role of the ADB in terms of providing financing and sharing expertise. She also noted that despite the increased uncertainty against the backdrop of current geopolitical events, Georgia`s financial system maintains its resilience and continues to seamlessly provide credit to the economy.

Banks maintain sound capital and liquidity indicators, while credit losses remain at historically low levels. At the same time, credit activity is at a sustainable level, amounting to 14.1% as of April 2026. The meeting was held in the format of an exchange of information and experience, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further cooperation in the future.
