David Songulashvili visits plant-based raw materials processing company “Farconi” in Kutaisi

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, David Songulashvili, visited the city of Kutaisi, where he got acquainted with the ongoing production operations at Farconi LLC.

Farconi LLC specializes in the drying, processing, and packaging of plant-based raw materials. The facility has an annual production capacity of approximately five million packaged units. Its products are distributed on the domestic market through retail chains operating throughout Georgia, while exports are carried out to the US, Israel, and European Union member states.

The company is a beneficiary of the Rural Development Agency. In 2022, Farconi participated in the Integrated Development Programme for Pilot Regions and has also benefited on several occasions from the Preferential Agro Credit Project to support the expansion of its business activities.

The Integrated Development Programme for Pilot Regions has been implemented since 2022 in four regions of Georgia - Imereti, Kakheti, Guria, and Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti aiming to support small and medium-sized enterprises. The programme finances the establishment of new enterprises, including the expansion and modernization of existing businesses, while providing financing for both fixed capital investments and working capital requirements.

Under the programme, nearly 50 beneficiaries across Georgia have received approximately GEL 20 million in financing. Of this amount, 23 beneficiaries in the Imereti Region have received GEL 8.7 million in support.

The Deputies of the Minister, Lasha Avaliani and Giorgi Tskrialashvili, Mayor of Kutaisi, David Eremeishvili, Director of the Rural Development Agency, Zurab Gozalishvili, Head of the National Food Agency, Giorgi Iakobashvili, and representatives of the local authorities accompanied the Minister.
