I would say that this department has a very critical, important task. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia, while speaking about the Department for the Fight Against Hate Speech.
"Hate and aggression were being imposed on us from the outside, which is not a characteristic phenomenon for Georgian culture and is not organic to us. We must, of course, oppose that.
We do not want someone from the outside to fuel hate and aggression in our country, and this is the function of this department. Therefore, we look at the work of this department with great optimism, and we are convinced that its activities will yield concrete results - we will continue to oppose the hate and aggression that are completely artificially imposed on us from the outside. One of the main goals of passing the Transparency Law was precisely this: preventing hate. We want a peaceful country, we want tranquility in this country - this is the mandate of society, and we are acting in accordance with the society`s mandate", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
