Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met a delegation of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission (NEAC) of the People's Republic of China, led by Commissioner Qin Yizhi.

The meeting focused on the close cooperation between Georgia and China, highlighting the elevation of bilateral relations to the level of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership as another significant milestone in the countries' growing ties.

The parties discussed cooperation on ethnic matters in both bilateral and international formats and expressed readiness to exchange experience and best practices in this field. The discussion also covered Georgia's state policy on civil equality and integration, including the country's 10-year strategy aimed at ensuring equal opportunities and fostering an inclusive society.

The meeting was attended by Thea Akhvlediani, State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of Government Administration of Georgia.

Georgia will host the 2029 World Judo Championships

Georgia is set to host the 2029 World Judo Championships. The official hosting agreement was signed by Shalva Gogoladze, the Minister of Sport, and Marius Vizer, the President of the International Judo Federation (IJF).

This marks the first time in history that the World Judo Championships will be held in Tbilisi.

The World Championships will be staged in Azerbaijan in 2026 and in Kazakhstan in 2027. Regarding 2028, the schedule for the tournament is currently undetermined due to the Summer Olympic Games.
