The Minister of Internal Affairs, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, accompanied by First Deputy Roni Meskhi, conducted a working meeting at the Mestia District Police Division. The briefing was attended by Irakli Pipia, Director of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department, alongside other senior officials.
The Minister was briefed by personnel on ongoing anti-crime operations and crime prevention measures. The discussions also highlighted the progress of law enforcement investigations into illegal energy consumption, which have so far led to the confiscation of 330 cryptocurrency mining rigs.
Sulkhan Tamazashvili emphasized that targeted police operations will actively continue to identify all complicit individuals and ensure appropriate legal action is taken against them.
During his visit to Zemo Svaneti, the Minister also inspected the Special Tasks Department’s Special Purpose Division, local Fire and Rescue units, and the Border Police Division. He reviewed the existing infrastructure and the working conditions of the personnel. Additionally, the Minister met with Security Police and Patrol Police officers deployed in the Mestia Municipality.
Tamazashvili concluded his visit by expressing his gratitude to the officers across all divisions for their dedicated service.
