Minister of Foreign Affairs said the Georgian side at the meeting with the European Commission delegation within the framework of the visa dialogue presented its positions, which addressed the concerns and recommendations that were noted by the European Union.
“This was the first working meeting at the working level, where the parties exchanged positions.
Our main goal was to provide the European side with information at this level and the Georgian side’s positions on each issue, regarding the visa dialogue and in this specific case the activation of the suspension mechanism. We will see how events will develop.
We expect that the EU will further take into account legitimate reasons that exist within the framework of the visa dialogue and the legitimate conditions that the Georgian side has. The Georgian side presented information on the issues that we have seen so far in the reports or regulations recorded by the EU, which are known to our public”, - said Maka Botchorishvili.
