I want to express my gratitude to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, for accepting my invitation and paying an official visit to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan; we believe that the first official visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Kyrgyzstan is a historic event. Such a statement the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, made at the joint briefing with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze.

“Georgia is an important partner of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, and our relations are based on mutual trust, mutual respect, and long-term cooperation.

We believe that the first official visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Kyrgyzstan is a historic event. Indeed, throughout the 34-year history of Kyrgyz-Georgian diplomatic relations, this is the first official visit to Kyrgyzstan by our Georgian friends at such a high level. Today’s negotiations were conducted in an open, friendly, and constructive atmosphere.

We exhaustively discussed the most important issues on the bilateral agenda, such as political dialogue, trade and economic relations, investment and sectoral cooperation, as well as the development of cultural and humanitarian ties. Political relations between our states have been firm and trust-based, and this is indeed a strong foundation for cooperation in all areas. In this context, we emphasize how important it is to maintain a regular political dialogue, as well as to deepen intergovernmental and interparliamentary contacts, and to expand consultations between our ministries of foreign affairs”, - said the President of Kyrgyzstan.
