Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tamazashvili, along with the Director of the Patrol Police Department Levan Maisuradze, visited Patrol-Inspector, Police Major Merab Kavtaradze, who was wounded in an attack that took place in Chugureti district of Tbilisi.

The Minister received information from doctors regarding his health condition, wished the injured policeman a speedy recovery, and thanked him for his bravery.

The patrol- inspector was attacked by a man armed with a knife while on patrol. Merab Kavtaradze and Police Major Giorgi Dzadzamia, while on patrol, noticed a man who had injured a person and was chasing him with a knife.

Law enforcement officers called on the man to stop, however he ignored their request and attacked them with a knife. Patrol inspectors arrested the man as an accused person.
