The support of the resolution by the states shows that the issue of Georgia`s territorial integrity, sovereignty and the return of IDPs to their homes is high on the agenda. Such a statement was made today by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.

"It is important that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again worked well at the UN, this resolution has more co-sponsors than the previous one, it has 107 supporters. It is also important to keep the number of abstainers stable and that it does not change negatively.

This once again shows that international legal norms are important on the one hand, but unfortunately, the hopes that Georgians have always had for a rules-based international order are under attack today, because we see that, unfortunately, the UN is unable to fulfill the role that it should play in ensuring international rules and resolving conflicts.
