Officers of the Central Criminal Police Department arrested a person wanted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation for severe crimes

Officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia, within the framework of a joint agreement signed with representatives of the US Department of State, as a result of close bilateral coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), arrested a person who was internationally wanted for various severe crimes.

Law enforcement officers detained the mentioned person at Tbilisi International Airport as a result of the investigative actions carried out. He was wanted on the basis of a request from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for various charges, including: aiding and abetting criminal activity, criminal conspiracy, and money laundering.

Currently, extradition procedures are underway for the detainee as defined by law.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has been successfully cooperating with law enforcement agencies of the United States for multiple years against various categories of crime, including organized crime.
