Head of the Georgian Government said that Georgia is a sovereign and dignified state and should not be treated as a subordinate actor in international relations.

As Irakli Kobakhidze, the country has clearly expressed this position on all relevant international platforms: “Georgia is not a school student to be lectured, graded, or told to ‘correct itself’. It is a dignified sovereign state, and we have made that position clear at every level”.

As he added, the previous US administration had demanded “very difficult” actions from Georgia, which he said was followed by pressure, coercion, and blackmail against the Georgian people and state institutions: “Georgia was defending its dignity when extremely difficult demands were being made of us, and based on the protection of dignity we managed to avoid the gravest risks for our country”.

Prime Minister also noted that what had deteriorated due to what he described as unfair treatment could only be repaired through a fair approach: “What was damaged by unfairness can only be fixed through a just approach”.
