The Prime Minister of Georgia said this at the opening of the 16th Tbilisi Regional Forum on Sustainable Development.

As he noted, the strategic visions formed within the framework of the forum will make a significant contribution to shaping a stronger, safer, and more sovereign future for Georgia.

“I am delighted that Tbilisi continues its long-standing tradition, hosting the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the sixteenth time, which has now acquired the status of a large-scale global platform. I am glad that our capital city remains an important center for international dialogue in the region.

In recent years, we have faced numerous global challenges, and against this backdrop, the main message of this year’s forum – “Sustainable Development for Socio-Economic Prosperity” - becomes even more relevant. Amid rising international tensions, where superpowers urge smaller countries to take sides, the full utilization of diplomacy becomes crucial for us.

It is both logical and natural that the forum’s agenda encompasses the most complex and pressing geopolitical issues. Discussing such topics is of fundamental importance for finding ways to ensure our national security and economic resilience.

The forum’s thematic panels are also closely linked to our strategic goals, being dedicated to strengthening sovereignty, energy security, the role of large hydropower plants in energy independence, strengthening human capital, implementing innovations, and sustainable urban reforms. Naturally, the peace platform continues to hold a special place. Without long-term stability and peace, it is impossible to speak of progress or prosperity.
