Some Georgians know exactly what the European Union is and what joining it means, what rights and privileges, as well as obligations, it entails. Such a statement made the Ambassador of Germany to Georgia.

According to Peter Fischer, a segment of Georgian citizens supports integration into the EU considering specific benefits and obligations, while another segment links the European choice to the country's identity and vision for the future.

“Some Georgians know exactly what the European Union is and what joining it means, what rights and privileges, as well as obligations, it entails. Others simply say – “I am Georgian, and therefore I am European”, I want a European future for my children and grandchildren, and besides, I have no better alternative, I do not want to be Russian, or Turkish, Iranian, or Azerbaijani. Being only with Armenia might not be enough”, - said the Ambassador.
