Delegation of Georgia is a partner of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and we are participating in this event in order to bring the parliamentary dimensions of Georgia and NATO even closer. Such a statement made Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee.

"Issues discussed at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session included hybrid and conventional military threats originating from Russia, Russia`s aggression against Ukraine, the extension of mandatory military service in NATO member states, increased investment in military technologies and innovation, and, more broadly, strengthening security along NATO’s eastern flank.

We listened to the speech of the NATO Deputy Secretary General, who spoke about future plans, including increasing defence spending to 5% of GDP.

He also emphasised that Ukraine has become a laboratory for military innovation and new technologies and, accordingly, now possesses some of the strongest military units. NATO must draw its own conclusions from this war.

The Georgian delegation participates in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly as a partner delegation. We are taking part in this event to further strengthen the parliamentary dimension of relations between Georgia and NATO", - said Nikoloz Samkharadze.

The permanent delegation of the Georgian Parliament is participating in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Spring Session. The session, which began in Vilnius on May 30, is also attended by Levan Makhashvili, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament`s European integration committee.
