Parliament considered, under an expedited procedure and in the III reading, and adopted with 72 votes the draft law on amendments to the Law "On Tourism".

The legislative initiatives introduced by members of the parliamentary majority - the draft laws on amendments to the Law "On Tourism" and the Law "On Insurance" - were presented at the plenary session by Member of Parliament Anton Obolashvili.

According to the draft law, entities engaged in tourism activities will be subject to mandatory registration in the database of tourism activity entities in order to ensure their registration and the transparency of related data.

The amendments also regulate issues and terminology related to risk-containing services.

In addition, the draft law redefines the fine-related provisions connected with the enforcement of the law, based on the principles of fairness, proportionality, and effectiveness.

Furthermore, under the draft law, issues related to the provision of tourist guide services and risk-containing services within the territory of Georgia by foreign citizens will be regulated by a decree of the Government of Georgia. "Tourism is one of the main sectors of our economy. The legislative amendments will contribute to the development of tourism, the improvement of services, and economic growth", - said Anton Obolashvili.
