The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia [PoG] has initiated an investigation into the fact of alleged abuse of power through violence by police officers in Gori.

“The PoG has opened a criminal investigation into the alleged violent abuse of power by police officers in Gori, under subparagraph ‘b’ of the 3rd part of Article 333 of the Criminal Code.

Urgent investigative and procedural actions are currently underway. The public will be informed of the results of the investigation at the earliest opportunity”, - reads the statement of the PoG.
