Today, the National Statistics Office of Georgia published the 2025 poverty rate, which decreased to 7.1%. This means that in 2025, against the backdrop of 7.5% economic growth, 90 000 of our fellow citizens overcame poverty. The Prime Minister of Georgia said this at the press conference.

As he noted, since 2020, poverty in Georgia has been reduced exactly threefold - from 21.3% to 7.1%.

“During these 5 years, the average annual decline in poverty amounted to 2.84 percentage points. As a reminder, in 2012, more than 1,120,000 of our fellow citizens lived below the poverty line, while in 2025, this figure dropped below 280 000.

One of our primary national tasks is to completely eradicate poverty in Georgia. As long as up to 280 000 of our fellow citizens still live below the poverty line, we naturally do not have the right to lower our guard”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
