A package of historic agreements was signed with the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia. This was preceded by months of rather complex and important negotiations. These agreements are of great importance for our country. The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said this in the interview with "Imedi TV".

"As you know, Azerbaijan is a strategic economic partner for our country, especially in the energy sector. The package of agreements covers two main sectors, energy and transport.

That is why it is of utmost importance that the many-month, very friendly, partnership negotiations yielded fruitful results and ended successfully. Of course, President Aliyev`s visit to Georgia and his meeting with the Honorary Chairman of the Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, played a major role in the course of these negotiations. Bilateral meetings were also held with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze. To summarize briefly, these were complex negotiations that lasted many months. Our team was very active in the negotiations, and this once again clearly demonstrated how good-neighborly and friendly relations we have with Azerbaijan", - said Mariam Kvrivishvili.

As she added, with this result, the political team of the Government once again demonstrated to the population that each of its actions and the tasks set are always aimed at the well-being of the country's citizens and the strengthening of specific industries.
