Just look at their leaders, the same tired, worn-out faces of the United National Movement [UNM], those faces have absolutely no prospect of achieving any success. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“We all remember October 4 and the events that led up to it. The same thing happened in connection with other similar episodes; they make announcements, raise expectations sky-high, and then disappoint their own supporters. That is precisely why their support base shrinks month by month, year by year, day by day; it is the direct consequence. They make false promises to their supporters and then leave them disillusioned. The same is happening now.

This alliance has absolutely no resources whatsoever. Just start by looking at the leadership: the same worn-out faces of the UNM. Naturally, those faces have not the faintest prospect of achieving any success. From a purely subjective standpoint, this turn of events suits us perfectly well; however, it does not serve the country’s interests when the opposition in Georgia goes by the names [Nika] Gvaramia, [Zurab] Japaridze, [Giorgi] Vashadze and their ilk.

Naturally, under such circumstances, the democratic system cannot develop as it should. For that reason, we shall naturally place maximum emphasis on the lawsuit that has been filed with the Constitutional Court.

There must be no place in a healthy democratic space for such unhealthy, anti-state forces and their agents. Accordingly, the rehabilitation of the political system in our country must be secured based on proper constitutional and democratic procedures, and that is where our full concentration will lie”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
