Three laboratories of the Forensic-criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia - the Laboratory for Chemical Forensic Examination of Micro particles, Soil and Oil Products, the Kakheti Chemical Forensic Laboratory and the Chemical Forensic Laboratory of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara - have received accreditation for compliance with the international standard - ISO 17025.

The comprehensive assessment process of the laboratories was conducted by the LEPL "Single National Accreditation Body - Accreditation Center" of the Ministry of Economy, which confirmed that the laboratories have implemented the latest quality management systems, fully compliant with international standards, which directly affects the greater reliability and accuracy of expert conclusions.

The next international recognition of the Department's laboratories is another step forward, which will contribute to providing the ongoing investigative process at the Ministry of Internal Affairs with research of international standards. Obtaining ISO international accreditation, along with technical recognition, is also a guarantee of high quality expert research, serving as the foundation for the effective implementation of justice.

The Forensic –criminalistics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues intensive work for the gradual accreditation of various areas of expertise and is implementing reforms so that all regional and specialized laboratories provide high-quality, international-standard expert services.
