The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia explained to the media why the Temporary Parliamentary Commission Studying the Pricing Structure of Food Products, Medicines, and Fuel was important.

"When prices were being discussed and the debate regarding prices went on for months, it was always empty words without arguments.

The general discussion was limited to what the price of a certain product was on the shelf. Through public discussion, with everyone`s participation and in everyone`s presence, this commission succeeded in ensuring that today we all know for certain what the chain called the pricing chain is.

We saw what factors influence pricing, why the price of something is "X" price, and as a result of the analysis, we know what factors affect the price.

You saw that all large retail chains allocated a specific list of products that will permanently remain at low prices and will not be of a promotional nature", - said Shalva Papuashvili.

The Temporary Parliamentary Commission Studying the Pricing Structure of Food Products, Medicines, and Fuel approved a 104-page conclusion.
