Tbilisi City Hall, along with a number of other programs, is implementing the “Joint Endoprosthesis” program, for which 2,000,000 GEL has been allocated in this year’s budget. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi.

“The goal of the program is to ensure access to surgical treatment for citizens in need of knee and hip endoprosthesis. Funding for this service was an election promise.

Tbilisi City Hall issues a letter of guarantee for receiving the service and the amount of financing is no more than 6,000 GEL, while the patient’s co-payment is determined based on the actual cost. The City Hall does not restrict citizens and allows them to freely choose between medical institutions and types of prosthesis.

Citizens of Georgia who have been registered in the Tbilisi Municipality for the past two years and who are not funded for these services within the framework of the universal healthcare state program at the time of inclusion in the program can benefit from the program. To receive services, a citizen or his/her legal representative must apply to a medical institution, which will upload the necessary documents into a special electronic module, and if the citizen uses private insurance, he/she or his/her representative must bring the relevant certificate from the private insurance company to the City Hall.

For us, the main thing is the person, their health, freedom of movement and a dignified life. When you return a person to the ability to move, you actually return their quality of life and help them in every way, because this health problem prevents movement.
