The Minister of Foreign Affairs said the establishment of the Diplomacy Academy was not merely an educational initiative, but an "intellectual shield" for the country and a strategic investment in its future.

"Today, the government of Georgia made an important decision regarding the establishment of the Diplomacy Academy. The implementation of Georgia`s foreign policy priorities requires an effective and strong diplomatic service capable of responding to modern international challenges.

Last year, the Foreign Ministry embarked upon a comprehensive reform, grounded in fundamental analysis and driven by contemporary needs, the aim of which is to ensure that Georgia is best placed on the international stage to defend its national interests and to carry out the priorities of the Georgian Government to the fullest effect.

To that end, alongside experienced diplomats, Georgia requires a young, educated, and thoroughly modern generation, well-attuned to the demands of today, who will commit themselves wholeheartedly to the defence of their country`s interests.

In 2025 the Government also initiated a university reform aimed at fundamentally enhancing the quality of education nationwide. In keeping with the goals and objectives of both the education reform and the reform of the foreign service, the establishment of the Academy of Diplomacy will provide for the training of young people in political science and international relations, through dedicated undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

It is precisely the practical application of the foundational knowledge acquired within the Academy of Diplomacy that must give the country the capacity to defend its national interests and sovereignty with unwavering resolve. Our goal is to prepare highly qualified young professionals equipped with strong analytical skills, solid ethical standards, and innovative vision, so they can effectively strengthen the country`s public service in today`s rapidly changing world.
