Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia participated in a roundtable discussion on Strengthening Connectivity and Economic Security within the framework of the 8th Summit of the European Political Community (EPC).

In his remarks, the Head of Government underscored Georgia`s distinctive role in enhancing connectivity and highlighted major infrastructure projects undertaken by the government to support this function, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, the development of modern highways and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port.

Irakli Kobakhidze also emphasized the importance of diversifying transport and energy routes, referring in this context to the strategic significance of the Southern Gas Corridor and the Black Sea Submarine Cable Project.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Georgia's readiness to continue close cooperation with partners and noted that strong connectivity is one of the key prerequisites for long-term stability.

The discussion was co-chaired by Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of Croatia and Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Norway. Participants included Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada; Bart De Wever, Prime Minister of Belgium; Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission; Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, President of North Macedonia; Robert Fico, Prime Minister of Slovakia and Feridun Sinirlioğlu, Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe [OSCE].
