Law enforcement officers seized up to 1 kilogram of cocaine - a foreign citizen detained

Officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained A.A., a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, born in 1994, on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs.

During the personal search and search activities held in defendant`s temporary residence, the police seized an especially large amount of cocaine - up to 1 kg - prepared for sale as evidence.

Law enforcement officers also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotic drugs.

The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
