Minister of Infrastructure, in an interview with the Moambe Regions programme once again underscored the importance of quality in construction projects, highlighting that this remains one of the nation’s key challenges.

“There will be no compromise on quality. It does not matter whether the company is local or international, whether it’s building a motorway or a kindergarten, our approach will be the same for everyone”, - said Revaz Sokhadze.

He also addressed questions about the postponement of the Grigoleti section’s opening, explaining that the road was initially scheduled to open in April. However, deficiencies were identified in one of the artificial structures during the course of work: “We discovered certain issues related to a specific structure and made it clear to the contractor that they needed to respond”.

As the Minister added, the contractor was obliged to dismantle and reconstruct the problematic structure, which delayed the project’s completion: “Our primary aim is to deliver projects on time, but speed cannot come at the expense of quality. This is a matter of principle”.

According to Revaz Sokhadze, all infrastructure projects, be it roads, schools, kindergartens, or any other facilities, should be designed for long-term use and to benefit future generations.

“What we are building today must be sustainable and of high quality. Our objective is not a fleeting impact, but to create infrastructure that will serve the community for years to come”, - noted the Minister.
