The US Embassy in Georgia publishes a post on social media regarding bilateral relations.
“On April 23, 1992, just one month after establishing diplomatic relations, the United States opened an embassy in Tbilisi.
This was a strong signal of US support for Georgia’s sovereignty and independence.
At the time, Acting Ambassador Kerry Kavanaugh called the opening historic and spoke about the plans to strengthen U.S.-Georgia ties, expand cooperation, and facilitate humanitarian assistance.
Today, 34 years later, we proudly continue to strengthen and develop our mutually beneficial partnership in Georgia”, - reads the statement.
